How do you think?

Here is a link to an article from the New York Times about the language of autism.

The video shown in this article has been on the internet for some time– Amanda Baggs, an autistic woman who cannot speak, explains her method of interacting with the world by typing into a computer, which then processes her message in a synthesized voice.

Amanda brings up some very compelling ideas about how people are socialized to think, and the greater implications of our socialization in regards to human rights. However, I think it’s also pertinent to some of our conversation yesterday on what people expect “art” to be.
